IOTA-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Helen L. Arabie announces her passing on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley at the age of 75. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 9, 2022, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iota with Pastor Jeremy Smith officiating.
Helen was an amazing cook, and her passion was cooking for her family. She baked the best homemade pumpkin pies. Helen will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband of 35 years, Lee Malone of Iota; her children, Terry Best and wife, Tina of Pollock, Chris Best and wife, Deena of Moss Bluff, and Cheryl Schneider and husband, Jude of Iota; siblings, Danny Lemoine and wife, Cathy of Simmesport, Paul Lemoine and wife, Darnette of Marksville, Denver Lemoine of Marksville, Rodney Lemoine and wife, Jeanine of Innis, and Gloria Wilkes and husband, Michael of Marksville; eighteen grandchildren, Dusty Best, Brandon Best, Amy Best, Cody Best, Natasha Best, Blake Best, Cassie Broussard, Ariel Best, Chase Best, Paige Best, Terry Best, Jr., Travis Best, Lakyn Ledbetter, Dara Bearb, Mackenzie Best, Descha Woodson, Brooke Lormand, and Alan Schneider; fourteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Ronnie “Peanut” Best, Jr.; parents, Wilton and Hattie Franks Lemoine; and brothers, Albert Lemoine, Hayward Lemoine, Brian Lemoine, and Little Joe Lemoine.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota on Monday, January 9th from 10:00 am until time of services.
