Obituary

Alice LaFleur, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile from 9AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed by the St. Augustine Catholic Daughters at 12:30 followed by a liturgy of the word by Father Brown at 1PM.

Alice was born on February 3, 1959, to Philip and Della Fruge. She spent many years as a school bus driver for Basile Schools, a job she truly loved. Alice took great pride in being a bus driver and enjoyed the time she spent getting to know and care for the children she transported. Her warm personality and caring nature made her a familiar and beloved face in the community.

When Alice wasn’t behind the wheel, she enjoyed spending her free time doing ceramics. She also loved cheering on her favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints. Whether she was working on a ceramic project or watching the Saints play, Alice found joy in the simple things she loved.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Corey) Roy; her brothers, Ray (Kay) Fruge and Cecil (Tina) Fruge; her sister, Sandra (Taylor) Davie; and her grandchildren, Abigail Roy, Jaxson Roy, and Meryn Roy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 21 years, Patrick LaFleur; and her parents, Philip and Della Fruge.

Though Alice is no longer with us, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
