Allen, born on October 24, 1927, to I.E. and Helena Christ Miller, who preceded him in death, led a life filled with dedication and service. His proud service in the United States Army during the post-World War II occupation of Okinawa, Japan is a testament to his patriotism. Allen's journey led him to work for his father's business, I. E. Miller and Sons, where he eventually retired as President of I.E. Miller and Sons.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Allen's generous spirit shone through his role as the coordinator and driver of the DAV Van, showing care and compassion for others. His support for the St. Ed’s Booster showcased his commitment to community involvement.
An avid fisherman, gardener, and hunter, Allen found joy in nature's beauty. Whether fishing and camping on the Calcasieu River or cooking for friends at the campsite, he created lasting memories filled with warmth and laughter.
Allen leaves behind a legacy cherished by his five children: Ann Cram (Wayne) of Mobile, AL, Darryl Miller (Patti) of Church Point, Craig Miller (Becky), Kent Miller (Debbie) both of Eunice. His greatest joys were his 10 grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, alongside extended family and dear friends.
He is reunited in peace with his beloved wife of seventy two years, Virginia Bergeron Miller; son Allen Gus Miller Jr.; grandson, Cody Miller; and his parents.
In the quiet moments of reflection, may we remember Allen Gus Miller for his steadfast love, unwavering dedication to family and friends, and his enduring legacy of kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
