IOTAA devoted father, brother, grandfather and friend, Amos Rasberry, Jr. will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Amos known as Red to all who knew him passed away on Monday, December 07, 2009 at The Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Iota at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Iota with Father Mikel Polson officiating.
In Reds younger years he worked at his fathers sawmill where they also raised horses and cattle on the family farm and he had a love for horse races. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was retired as an operator of Dupont in Orange, TX. He lived a very full life surrounded by people who loved him and he loved.
Red will be loving remembered by his son, Brad Rasberry and his wife, Karen of Vinton; his daughter, Bridget Leon and her husband, Dennis of Denton, TX; his sister, Margie Miller and her husband, Jim of Salato, TX; and his loving grandson, Lane Rasberry of Seattle, Washington.
Now he rests in heaven with his beloved wife, Euna Blanchard Rasberry; his parents, Amos and Callie Murff Rasberry, Sr.: his brother, Clifford Rasberry and his sister, Nell Rasberry Fisher.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 09, 2009 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm and again on Thursday from 9:00 am until time of services.
