EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Amy L. Cormier announces her passing on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 90. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Orville Rogers officiating.

Amy was a homemaker who loved cooking and published two cookbooks. She was known for her famous seafood recipes and her chocolate fudge cake. She loved to camp and go to Blue Grass Festivals. But above all she loved the lord and her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her five children, Ruth Cormier Young of Eunice, Kenneth Cormier and wife, Linda of Opelousas, Michael Cormier and wife, Stephanie of Richard, Kathy Cormier Gotreaux and husband, Keith of Eunice and Vonda Cormier Guidry and husband, Wendel of Richard; the joys of her life her fourteen grandchildren, Sandra David, Rebecca Bell, Cynthia Sittig, Carl Cormier, Elizabeth Tullos, Randy Cormier, Tammie Reyes, Carmen Cormier, Jake Cormier, Kolinthia Labbe, Kevin Gotreaux, Krystal Bullock, Brittany Smith and Amy Olivia Guidry; thirty three great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty four years, Henry Cormier; parents, Laurent and Analise Janise LeJeune; son in law, Kenneth Wayne Young; two great grandchildren and eight siblings.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, November 23rd from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 24th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
