Beatrice "Bezzie" Sattler

EUNICE-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Beatrice “Bezzie” Sattler announces her passing at the Opelousas General Hospital on January 29, 2024, at the age of 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.

      Known as Bezzie amongst those who knew and cherished her, Beatrice's absence will be felt immensely by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Having retired from her role as a cafeteria worker at Eunice High School, she took great joy in being a dedicated #1 Bobcat fan while savoring her beloved coffee and enjoying travel. Bezzie was renowned for her kindness and affectionate nature, yet above all else, it was her family that she held dearest to her heart. She is survived by her sons, Michael Sattler and wife, Shelly of Eunice, Todd Sattler of Eunice, Blake Sattler and wife, Vanessa of Jacksonville, FL, and Jason Sattler of Eunice; daughter, Monique Martinez-Sattler and husband, Ivan of Mexico; brothers, Steve Miller and wife, Galyn of Eunice, and Richard Miller of Lafayette; sister, Arlene Trahan of Eunice; eleven grandchildren, Alec and Addison Sattler, Caleb, Lindsey, and Dat Dylan Sattler, Andrew Garces, Breana, Jordan, and Jonathan Sattler, Des’tnee Gray, and Tayler Nicely; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Sattler; parents, Ira and Antoinette Leonards Miller; and brother, Jude Miller.

      At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a Rosary Wednesday evening at 6:30.
