EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Bernadine G. Fontenot announces her passing on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Southwind Nursing and Rehab Center in Crowley with loving family by her side. She was 81. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the New St. Ann's Mausoleum with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

Bernadine a homemaker devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed playing all sports with her children, loved being outdoors and camping. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her husband of 66 years, Lesbay Fontenot of Eunice; her six children, Terry Fontenot and Jeannie of Eunice, Brenda F. Babineaux of Jennings, Curt Fontenot and Dwayne of Eunice, Damon Fontenot and Evette of Jennings, Mike Fontenot of Eunice and Kayla Castro and Mario, Jr of Eunice; one sister, Lita LeDoux of Kinder; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Christian "Ben" and Delia Ashford Granger; sister, Merlene LaBouve and a brother, Bruce Granger.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, May 13th from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, May 14th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Monday with Deacon Chuck Ortego.
