Obituary

Above all, Bertha's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family.

Bertha Jeanette Aguillard Cormier was welcomed into Heaven on July 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will continue on Friday, July 10, 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Born in Mowata, Louisiana, Bertha was a woman of many talents and passions. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and embroidery, and had a deep love for Cajun music. Coming from a family of Cajun musicians, music was always close to her heart. She was a devoted member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, The Affiliated Blind, and a charter member of the CFMA. Above all, Bertha's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and found immense happiness in celebrating each of their achievements.

Bertha leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Martina Courville and husband, Mitch, Marlinda Kirkpatrick and husband, Joel, and Mason Cormier; her grandchildren, Kody and wife, Bonnie, Kory and wife, Jena, Lindsay Ryle and husband, Garrett, Jessica "Blanche" Miller and husband, Josh, and Toby Kirkpatrick and wife, Therese; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jack Joseph, Tucker, Madi Beth, Ellia, Andie Jo, Dawson, Weston, Hudson, Hope, Colton, Chandler, David-Ross, and Royce Amos.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Amos Joseph Cormier; her parents, Lawrence and Oliva Aguillard; and her siblings, Leit Aguillard, Mary Landry, Thelma Morris, Homer "Bee" Aguillard, Eldridge Aguillard, Gilman Aguillard, Winnie Fontenot, and Lawrence Aguillard, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata, Louisiana.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her hospice nurses, Lori and Hanna, and her aide, Elaine, for the compassionate care they provided and for taking the time to listen to her many treasured stories.
