ELTONIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Calvin Mug James Briscoe announces his passing on the morning of Friday, February 07, 2014 at Eunice Manor with his loving family by his side at the age of 59. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Sunday at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Elton. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Deacon John Eaves officiating.
Calvin, or Mug as he was affectionately called by family and friends loved woodwork and crawfishing but most of all, he was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife, Vickie Briscoe his mother, Lydia Briscoe and his son Christopher Briscoe all of Elton his two daughters, Carla Watford and her husband, Billy of Eunice and Kaylin Sonnier and her husband, Dusty of Jennings three brothers, Joe, John and Leland Briscoe all of Elton three sisters, Pam Reeves and husband, Marty, and Angela Ortego, all of Elton and Diane Richard and husband, Terry of Kinder. He was a loving and wonderful grandfather to four grandchildren, Gavin Christ, James Slade Briscoe, Julia and Jayia Watford.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved father, Isaac Briscoe brother, Mark Briscoe and a sister, Ludie Miller.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Elton on Saturday, February 8th from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Sunday, February 9th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon John Eaves will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Saturday evening.
