BASILE~It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Calvin A. Perrodin announces his passing on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the comfort of his home with loving family by his side at the age of 92. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant.

A proud veteran, Calvin served in the United States Navy during World War II where he received a Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon, American Area Ribbon and a Victory Ribbon. He was a retired teacher from the Evangeline Parish School Board. He served as a past president and vice president for the Evangeline Parish Library Board from 1994 to 2007 as well as a president and past king of the Louisiana Swine Festival. He was on the committee of the Acadiana Trail and a member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years. One of his hobbies along with camping was raising a herd of thirty plus buffalo.

Calvin was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was the father of four wonderful children; three sons, Stephen K. Perrodin of Lafayette, Mark A. Perrodin of Lake Charles and Guy Perrodin and wife, Stacey of Eunice; his daughter, Nadja Perrodin Hays and husband, Tom of Covington. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Aimee' Doucet, Lesley Fuselier, Shadda Ethridge, Meghan Wood, Kaitlyn and Ambur Perrodin, Guy Perrodin, II, Ryan and Jared Williams; and further blessed with fifteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

He now rests in heaven with his loving wife, Barbara; his beloved parents, Jessie and Ella Buller Perrodin; his sister, Jessie Rae Albino and his brother, Bryan Perrodin.

The family would like to thank the caregivers, Rhona Arnaud, Barbara Manuel and April LeMalle for the love, care and kindness they provided Dad over these years, especially the care needed due to his blindness.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile from 12:30 pm until time of services. A 2:00 pm Rosary will be recited.
