IOTA~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Charles "Charlie Boy" "Poppy" Leckelt announces his passing on Friday, February 19, 2016 in the comfort of his home at the age of 65. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial will follow in the Iota Cemetery with Br. Willie Casiano officiating.

Charles known to many as "Charlie Boy" or "Poppy", enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved God, life and his family. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his four children, Amanda Daigle and husband, Shane of Evangeline, Paula Leckelt of Rayne, Charles Leckelt, Jr and wife, Mandie of Morse and Teresa Menard and husband, Shannon of Egan; two brothers, Malcom and David Leckelt both of Iota; two sisters, Mona Thibodeaux of Gotts Cove and Patsy Love of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Opal Deshotel Leckelt; two brothers, Velton and Ray Leckelt; numerous half brothers and sisters.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Iota on Saturday, February 20th from 10:00 am until time of services on Sunday, February 21st.
