BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the children of Claude LaFleur announces his passing on the morning of Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou at the age of 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery with Father David Hebert Celebrant.
Claude was retired from Asbestos worker Local 53, but most of all he was a loving father to four children, two sons, Michael LaFleur and wife, Donna of Elton and Carl LaFleur and wife, Katherine of Kinder, two daughters, Patricia LaFleur McCoy and husband, Frank of Elton and Pam LaFleur Miller and husband, Marcus of Iota. He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren. He will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Joyce Reed LaFleur his parents, Avie LaFleur and Anna Bertrand DeMars and a sister, Lois Day.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, January 24th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 25th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon John Eaves will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday evening.
