EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of David McCraney announces his passing on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 64. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 6, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery in Lawtell with Pastor Joshua Carrier, officiating.
David’s passion was fishing and sharing the love and word of God. He was co-owner of Lavergne’s Cajun Kitchen in Lawtell. He also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and adored spending time with his children and family. He will be missed dearly by all, especially his wife of 13 years, Sheila McCraney of Lawtell; his mother, Rosie Johnson of DeQuincy; his children, Tatum, Micah, Bentley, Brogen, Jennifer, and Melissa; brother, Neil McCraney, III and wife, Racquel of Lake Charles; sisters, Gladys Cryer and husband, Mike, Kathy Boykin, and Cindy Brignac, all of DeQuincy; as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. His family rejoices knowing that he is worshipping in the presence of God now.
He is preceded in death by his father, Neil McCraney, Jr.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, September 6th from 11:00 am until time of services.
Pallbearers carrying David to his final resting place include, Dennis Lavergne, Jason Lavergne, Anselmo Rosales, John Higginbotham, Sherman “Jake” Thibodeaux, and Jamie Cryer. Honorary pallbearers are Tatum McCraney, Alex Rosales, and Jose Olvera.
