Rite of Committal to follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with The Reverend Father Ed Duhon, Celebrant.

After high school, Mr. Brunet learned how to weld while working on the docks and the shipyards in New Orleans. Soon after, he was drafted into the United States Navy where he served for two years. As a Combat Veteran of World War II, Mr. Brunet made several major beach landings including the Battles of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. Upon his return home, he worked in many oilfields in the Louisiana area as well as the Gulf of Mexico doing pipeline welding. After 20 years in the oilfield, he became a welding inspector and supervisor, working in areas such as Europe, Africa, Bahrain, and in the North Sea off Scotland. Mr. Brunet was an active member of the American Legion Post 129 where he served for over 60 years and at one time held the position as Post Commander. He was a generous and kind-hearted person. He was also the most charitable person you could have known, which he done quietly, without publicity. He gave away food, clothing, arranged for money, and found jobs for anyone who was in need.

Denniss children, family and friends were his life, survived by his two loving daughters, Sherry Hoffman of Lafayette, and Deanie McWhorter and husband, Ted of Eunice; five grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glady Miller Brunet; parents, Relise Brunet and Melicia Hebert; son, Glenn Brunet; son-in-law, Tony Hoffman; and brothers, Charles Chick Brunet and Curtis Brunet.
