Dennis Paul Deshotel

BASILE~ With the heaviest hearts the family of Dennis Paul Deshotel announces his passing on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the age of 58. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Bishop Douglas Deshotel, Celebrant.

    Dennis was born on November 05, 1965, to Hedrick and Nancy Brewster Deshotel. He was a 1983 Basile High Graduate and love his bearcats and was a big fan. He was the friendliest, kindest, funniest, most loving person you would ever meet. He loved to watch wrestling and Price is Right.

But most of all he loved his family and spending time with them was a great joy to him, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by his father, Hedrick P. Deshotel, Sr of Basile; his siblings, Jackie Deshotel Ravey and husband, David, Kathy Deshotel Silvas and husband, Benito and Hedrick P Deshotel, Jr. and wife Rhonda all of Basile; his godchildren, Eric Deshotel and Hedrick P. Deshotel, III as well as extended family and many dear friends.

     He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Deshotel; niece, Leann Ravey; paternal grandparents, Welfoot Paul and luna Marie Deshotel.

    At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, December 29^th from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 30^th from 8:00 am until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday.
