Dolan D Duplechin

     EUNICE~ It is with great sorrow that the family of Dolan Duplechin announces his passing on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. A burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Mowata with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.

     Dolan was born on August 9, 1942 to Elton “Big” and Faye Vige Duplechin. He served his county proudly in the United States Marines in the Vietnam war. He received a Vietnam Service medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Navy Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Dolan retired from the Oil and Gas industry as a dispatcher. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving and wonderful father to Michelle Duplechin of Breaux Bridge and Jennifer LaMalle and fiance’ , George Green of Eunice: brother, Richard Duplechin and wife, Tina all of Eunice. He loved his role as being a “pop” to four grandchildren, Macie Brockman and husband, Brandon, Krislynn Hayworth, Mercedes LaMalle and Dominic Duplechin; cousin, Corey Duplechin of Breaux Bridge; as well as extended family and many dear friends. He will forever be in our hearts and missed every day.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Duplechin, daughter, Rachel Duplechin; sons, Chris Duplechin and David Duplechin; grandson, Dylan Duplechin and his sister, Anita Bibb.

      At the request of the family, visitation will begin on Sunday, December 17^th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday, December 18^th from 8:00 am until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday by Voorhies Short.
