Dominick Veillon

    EUNICE - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Dominick Veillon on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at his residence at the age of 77.  A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Dominick's memory at 10:00 am on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. Pastor Caleb Semien will preside over the services. Following the ceremony, Dominick will be laid to rest at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

     Born June 11, 1946, known to many as “Nick” was a man with an unwavering passion for life.  He possessed an insatiable curiosity and had a penchant for embarking on road trips. These adventures allowed him to explore museums and attend car shows. These adventures were also an opportunity for him to spend quality time with his son and family at various military bases.  A true history enthusiast, Nick's remarkable memory often amazed those around him. His wealth of knowledge was always readily available, as he willingly shared it with others. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, enjoyed listening to live music and eating crawfish. Nick dedicated himself to serving others as a funeral director for Ardoin's Funeral Home for over fifty years, taking great pride in his work.

    Nick touched the lives of many through his vibrant spirit and zest for life. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured by his family and friends. During this time of mourning, we extend our deepest condolences to all those whose lives were enriched by knowing Nick.

    He is survived by his son David Veillon and wife Pam of Eunice and the four joys of his life: his grandchildren David Veillon Jr of Eunice; Brianna V. Gomez-Catalan and husband Joel of Deer Park, WA; Shelby Veillon; and Chloe Veillon, both of Eunice; nephew, Dr. Timothy Veillon of Lufkin, TX; as well as extended family and dear friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

    He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Nelson Veillon; parents, Dominick and Vivian Hebert Veillon; and a brother, Vernon Veillon.

    At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Monday, January 22nd from 8:00 am until the time of services.
