EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dot Lanthier Heinen on Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Dot was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed family gatherings, loved to travel, and work in her yard. Every spring she waited for the arrival of purple martins and blooms in her garden. Dot was best described as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who always had an open heart for giving and caring to others. Precious memories of her will remain forever in the hearts of her family and those who loved her including her husband, Raymond Heinen her son, William Billy Heinen of Eunice her two daughters, Debra Heinen Courville and husband, Timothy and Jelaine Heinen Begnaud and husband, Mark all of Eunice her brother, Glenn Lanthier and wife, Sue of Denali, Alaska a sister, Francis Courville and husband, Isom of Moss Bluff. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Jason Courville, McKenzie and Mayson Begnaud, David Sanders, Jill and Joseph Heinen and further blessed with three great grandchildren, Colt Courville, Ava Lafleur and Carter Fletcher.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Henry and Elda Fontenot Lanthier.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, May 21st from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, May 22nd from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
