EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edith "Chouette" Ruppert announces her passing on Tuesday, May 03, 2016 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation in Eunice. She was 94. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 05, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

Edith, known as Chouette, was retired from the Eunice News. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and visiting the casino. Edith will be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her son, Danny Mark Thibodeaux and wife, Donna of Eunice; daughters, Merella Simar and husband, Donald of Scott and Anita Butler and husband, Robert of Eunice; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Mark Thibodeaux, Jr. and Matthew Ruppert; parents, Regile and Lovenia LaFleur Duplechain; two brothers, Verney and Cleve Duplechain; and an infant sister.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, May 4th from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and again on Thursday, May 5th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
