EUNICE~ For 95 years, Edmund “Blanc” Frey graced his family and friends and on December 14, 2021, Edmund passed away in the comfort of his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.
Edmund was born in Mowata on November 14,1926, to Adolph Joseph and Marie Madeline Dischler Frey. He joined the United States Army and served during World War II. He earned Farmer of the Year award for 1969-1970 from Lions International. In 2018 he received awards and the bishop’s medal for his dedicated service to the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He served as Sacristan at the 7:00 am mass and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his loving wife of seventy one years, Alberta Heinen Frey of Eunice; his four children, Marilyn Taylor and husband, Terry of Shreveport, Gary Frey and wife, Margaretta, Blane Frey and fiancé, Anna Bushnell and Tracie Young and husband, Kevin all of Eunice; seven grandchildren, Sunni Richard and husband, Blake, Cade Frey and wife, Catherine, Cody Taylor and wife, Tiffany, Beaugh Frey and fiancé Melissa Reviere, Randy Reed and wife, Jenny, Erin Duplechin and husband, Brett and Alex Young; nine great grandchildren; as well as extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Daniel and Harold Frey and an infant sister, Louise Frey.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, December 15th from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 16th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
