Ella Mae Sonnier

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ella Mae Sonnier announces her passing on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.
Ella enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing, cooking, and plants. She was a MeMaw to many children that she babysat over the years, but most of all she was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her son, Rodney Sonnier and his wife, Nikki of Eunice; sister, Wilda Jo Hand of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Kellan Sonnier, Katelyn Sonnier, Bethany Sonnier, and Dominic Sonnier; four bonus grandchildren, Gary, Brandon, Brent, and Quinten Swann; three great-grandchildren, Easton and Oliver Sonnier, and Ellis Sonnier; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Sonnier; parents, Olide and Nedia Courville Miller; and siblings, Theresa Caswell and Nolan Miller.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, February 7th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, February 8th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a Rosary at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.
