EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Emma Bertrand LeDoux announces her passing on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Ochsner American Legion Hospital in Jennings at the age of 89. A Rosary and Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Deacon Gary Gaudin, officiating.
Emma Bertrand, born on January 16, 1937, in Mamou, Louisiana, was a devoted and loving soul who graced the lives of those around her. The cherished daughter of the late Frank and Lucille Bertrand, Emma lived a simple yet profoundly meaningful life as a dedicated homemaker who placed her family at the very center of her world.
Her days were filled with warmth and kindness, as she poured her heart into nurturing those she loved. Emma found joy in the simple pleasures—cherishing moments spent playing bingo with friends, enjoying visits to the casino, and sharing delightful meals out with her beloved husband. Her affection extended to her feline companions, who held a special place in her heart and were a source of comfort and companionship.
Emma’s life was a testament to the beauty of devotion and the strength found in everyday acts of love. She will be remembered fondly for her gentle spirit, her unwavering commitment to family, and the quiet happiness she found in life’s simple blessings. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her children, James LeDoux of Sun City, AZ, Jennifer Lynn Smith of Carencro, Marilyn Sue Penouilh and husband, Stephen Simmons of LaMirada, CA, Denise LeDoux of Eunice, and Stephanie LeDoux of Youngsville; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lucius LeDoux, Jr.; her parents; and siblings, Hebert Bertrand, Francis Bertrand, Clarence Bertrand, Mary LaFleur, and Edna Fuselier.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 8:00 am until time of services.
