Faye G. Odom

November 25, 1934 — March 30, 2024

    EUNICE- Faye G. Odom, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away at The Calcutta House in Lafayette on March 30, 2024, at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 03, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a private burial to follow with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.

       Faye was born on November 25, 1934, in Eunice, LA to Emar Guillory and Lonia McCauley Guillory. She was raised in Eunice, LA and was a 1953 Eunice High School graduate. Faye was very talented in many things. She loved arts and crafts, was an excellent seamstress, and played the piano and accordion. Faye was also an experienced tennis player. She played from 1972 to 1994 and she and her doubles partners won tournaments in Eunice and Lafayette. Faye was also a member of the Silver Belles Dance Team in Eunice. They performed at local festivals and participated in the Louisiana Senior Olympics, being awarded numerous gold medals.

       Faye had many passions, but her most important one was her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, William Bruce Odom and wife, Andrea Lee of Texarkana, TX, Peggy Susan Odom of Carencro, and Nancy Lynn Odom of Lafayette; her sisters, Verna Jane Guillory Ardoin and husband, Clarence of Crowley, and Juanette Guillory Harris and husband, Ron of Santa Barbara, CA; the joys of her life, her six grandchildren, Robert Smith and wife, Michelle Pentecost, Kenneth Smith, Ben Odom, Katie Odom, Vivian Fontenot, and Olivia Fontenot; and one great-grandson, Bruce Smith; as well as extended family and friends. 

        She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Odom; her parents; brothers, Samuel Guillory, Daniel Guillory, and Jimmy Guillory; and sisters, Lou Guillory Fuselier and Sheral Guillory Hebert.

       Pallbearers carrying her to her place of rest include her three grandsons, Robert Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Benjamin Odom, as well as life-long family friend, Kenny Frey.
