EUNICE-~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ferdie “Boogie” Brown, Jr. announces his passing on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 74. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2019 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Austin Leger officiating.

Ferdie, known as Boogie all his life, was a lifelong Volunteer Firefighter and he worked for the city of Eunice Fire Department for 30 years where he retired. He enjoyed fishing, playing the drums, and collecting and crafting model trains. Ferdie was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him especially his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara C. Brown of Eunice; sons, Kevin Paul Brown and wife, Tammy, and Keith Brown and wife, Trisha, all of Eunice; daughter, Amy Brown Duplechin and husband, Steve of Basile; brothers, Deryl Brown and wife, Gail, and Bernard Brown and significant other, Kelly Morgan, all of Eunice; sister, Sharon Hebert and husband, Mike of Eunice; seven grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Aaron, Kayle, Caleb, Brook, and Luke; eight great grandchildren,  Gabbie, Landon, Blayze, Karson, Weslie, Ainslee, Aubriee, and Rhett; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ferdie Brown, Sr. and Isabelle Picard Brown; an infant twin brother; and sister, Brenda Lomas.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, June 27th from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, June 28th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 5:00 pm on Thursday.
