We regret to announce the passing of Frederick “Freddy” Regan, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. Frederick was born on April 15, 1938, and he left this world on September 7, 2023. He was known for his love of rodeo, horses, and the cowboy way of life. Everyone affectionately called him and his twin brother “Legends,” a testament to his legendary presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Frederick had a passion for riding horses and working with his cows. He thrived in the rodeo arena and felt at home amidst the excitement and camaraderie that came with it. A true all-around cowboy, Frederick’s dedication to his craft was unmatched. His spirit of adventure and love for horsemanship will forever remain in the hearts of those who witnessed his skills firsthand.
Beyond his cowboy persona, Frederick’s family meant everything to him. An adoring father, he was proud of his children: son, Frederick “Randy” Regan of Crowley, Donna Regan of Lake Charles, Jaime Johnson and husband, Patrick of Oakdale and Rhonda Andrews and husband, Mark of Marion. Each moment with them brought immense joy to Frederick’s heart.
He also cherished his role as a grandfather, Justin Regan and wife, Katelyn, Dereck Stanley, Hailey Stanley, Dustin Andrews, Lexi Johnson, Heidy Johnson and Cohen Johnson filled his life with laughter and love. His eyes would light up whenever he saw their smiling faces.
In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, Frederick was a loyal brother to Delores Cart and husband, Ronald of Sulphur and Carolyn Durst and husband, Phillip of Knoxville, TN. Their bond was unbreakable as they supported each other throughout their lives.
Frederick’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He touched the lives of many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and cherished friends who held a special place in his heart. His kind and generous nature left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Rusty and Scott Regan; parents, Phillip and Ethel Leger Regan; brothers, Carl Regan and his twin brother, Satch Regan.
In celebration of Frederick’s life, a visitation event will be held on September 11th from 2:00 pm to 9:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota. Another visitation event will take place on September 12, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota at 11:00 AM. The burial service will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 12:00 PM with Father Jude Thierry, Celebrant. A Rosary will be prayed September 11th at 6:30 PM.
