EUNICE~It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Harold Deshotel announces his sudden passing on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home at the age of 87. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery with Deacon David Guillory officiating.

Harold was a retired veteran of the United States Navy as a Master Chief Electrician. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40/8 where he reached the highest levels, and was also a member of the VFW. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed by his wife of eleven years, Joyce Brunet Deshotel of Eunice; his two sons, Danny Deshotel and wife, Jane of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Ronnie Deshotel and wife, Gerolene of Branch; his daughter, Janice Godeaux of Newton, TX; his brother, Elmer Deshotel and wife, Moppy and his sister, Millie Mullins all of Lake Charles; his nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Walker Deshotel; daughter, Diane Marie Watson; parents, Dewey and Murry Fontenot Deshotel and brother, Harland Deshotel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, November 13th from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
