Harold James Marcantel

      On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the world bid farewell to Harold James Marcantel-a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend-as he peacefully passed away at Eunice Manor with his family by his side. He graced this world for 76 years.

     Born on November 02, 1947, to Calvin and Ella Mae Odom Marcantel-who have gone before him- Harold’s journey included proudly serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war. A man with a passion for craftsmanship, he found joy in working with his hands, excelling as a carpenter and creating lasting treasures through his building projects. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and cherishing him especially his lovely wife, of twenty- eight years,  Cordile “Cora” Boulet Marcantel of Eunice; daughter, Sheila Ivory; stepchildren, Joan “Susie” Devillier of Moss Bluff and Gary Vidrine and wife, Lisa of Eunice; brother, Wilbur Marcantel of Vinton and numerous grandchildren, extended family and dear friends.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Flo Marcantel, Caldona Marcantel and Geraldine Marcantel Spears.

      At the request of the family, visitation will begin on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 am until time of services at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be recited at 12:30 on Saturday.  On March 16, 2024, A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin, Officiating.
