Harriett R. Kreswell, affectionately remembered for her warmth, vivacity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved, passed away on July 8, 2026, at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, Louisiana. This community shaped her, and she enriched it throughout her life.
A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday from 2PM to 8PM with a rosary at 6PM prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin and will continue on Monday, July 13 from 8AM until time of services. Funeral services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday at 10AM with Father Clement officiating and a burial to follow at the St. Paul Mausoleum.
Harriett graduated from St. Edmunds Catholic School, where she was a varsity basketball player and a majorette for all four years. Later in life, Harriett dedicated more than thirty-three years as office manager for Jack Stagg, DDS.On January 19, 1963, Harriett married Philip Kreswell. Their union was cemented in their shared dedication to family and community, and together, they created a welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and a steady stream of cherished memories. Faith was the cornerstone of Harriett’s life, her home parish being Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Duralde.
Harriett’s love of life was evident in her passions and hobbies. Whether she was casting a line while fishing, pursuing dove and rabbit during hunting season, gliding across water or snow on skis, or capturing memories during her travels, she embraced every adventure wholeheartedly. Yet perhaps her greatest joy came from her kitchen, where her love of cooking brought friends and family together, nourishing both body and spirit. Time spent with loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and the pleasures of good food, was among her most treasured memories.
Harriett leaves behind a tapestry of enduring relationships. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Philip W. Kreswell of Eunice, LA; her son, David Kreswell and wife, Debbie, of Eunice, LA; her brother, Michael Robbins and wife Cindy of Texas; her sister, Kathy Larson and husband, Eddie, of Vacherie, LA, and Gwen Comeaux of Lafayette, LA; her granddaughters, Megan Kreswell of Broussard, LA, and Morgan Kreswell Bordelon and husband, Travis, of Lafayette, LA; and her great grandchildren, Hayes Jumonville, Bishop Bordelon, and Reese Bordelon.
She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, Harry and Bertha Robbins; her brother, Wilbert (Tee) Robbins; her brother-in-law, Keith Comeaux; her mother-in-law, Ruth Kreswell; her father-in-law, Howard Kreswell; and her brother-in-law, Gary Kreswell.
She is carried in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her, including the dear friends and family called upon as pallbearers—Ronnie Valenta, Neal Cormier, Mikie Robbins, Dr. Scott Robbins, Bill Laughlin, and Kevin Robbins—and as honorary pallbearers, Aaron Olivier, Mike Robbins, Clay Menard, Bob Fontenot, Travis Bordelon, Eric Larson, and her great-grandsons, Hayes Jumonville and Bishop Bordelon.
