EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Howard "Brother" Heinen announces his passing on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was 58. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rite of committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Jude Theirry Celebrant.

Howard, known as "Brother", was a strong-willed fighter and was loved by many. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by his family, including his son, Dustin Heinen and fiancé, Alise of Eunice; daughter, Tiffany Heinen of Eunice; mother of his children, Barbara Dardeau of Mamou; brothers, Robert Keith Heinen and wife, Cathy of Eunice, and Samuel Joseph Heinen and wife, Monique of Lafayette; sisters, Joan Zaunbrecher and husband, Reggie of Eunice, and Carla McElligott and husband, Bill of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Traven, Elizabeth, Austin and Kaden Heinen; and step granddaughter, Candace Darbonne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James "Tunnie" and Bernita Rider Heinen.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, August 13th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Monday, August 14th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
