Iris D Miller

August 18, 1924 — March 6, 2024

Eunice

On March 6, 2024, we bid farewell to a beautiful soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Iris Miller, 99  born on August 18, 1924, has left a legacy of kindness and compassion that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. As a dedicated parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Iris poured her heart into volunteering for various church activities, from bazaars to bingo nights - always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Her spirit of service and devotion shone brightly in all that she did, leaving an indelible mark on the community she held dear. Though she may have departed from this world, the memories of her selflessness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Rest in peace, dear Iris.

She cherished her family above all else, finding immense joy in their company. Her daughter, Jolane Manuel, was her constant caregiver for many years, a source of unwavering support and love. She leaves behind her devoted brother, Izzie Dupre of Eunice, and her caring sister, Barbara Hebert of Evangeline.
Among the treasures of her life are her granddaughter, Sheryl Devillier of Eunice, five great-grandchildren, Kenneth Ware, Heather Durm, Damian Anderson, Cody Anderson and Trevor Bertrand and an incredible fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the love she shared so generously. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of those whose lives she touched so deeply.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Francis Ortego and Louis Miller; children, Linda and Carl Miller; three grandchildren, Christine Manuel, John Manuel and Donna Bertrand, parents, father, Felix Dupre and wife, Iris Dupre, mother, Eva and husband, Adam Bergeaux; siblings, Loyce Hebert, Felix Dupre, Jr; Carol Dupre, Valgene Dupre and Gilbert Bergeaux; one great grandchild, Brittany Manuel and a great great granddaughter.

At the request of the family, visitation will begin on Friday, March 8th from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 9th  from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 on Friday. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.
