Obituary

EUNICE- With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Jackie D. McClelland in the comfort of his home on the morning of Wednesday, October 7, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Rev. Tom McManus officiating.

Jackie "Jack" McClelland was born in Eunice, Louisiana, to the late Delma and Eula Vidrine McClelland. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jack was a cherished member of the American Legion and served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Eunice, where he also shared his wisdom as a Sunday School teacher.

Jack dedicated his life to farming, finding joy in raising his family and nurturing the land. He treasured moments spent with friends, whether hunting, fishing, or camping. His passion for cooking brought loved ones together for countless suppers he hosted, filled with laughter and warmth. Jack leaves a legacy of love, service, and community, cherished by all who knew him.

Jack will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his children, Keith McClelland and wife, Terri of Eunice, and Nanette McClelland-Miller and husband, Josh of Phoenix, AZ; his three grandchildren, Kristen McClelland-Fontenot and husband, Blake, Garrett McClelland and wife, Karleigh, and Jolie Miller; his five great grandchildren, Moss McClelland, Gray Fontenot, Drake Fontenot, Aiden Fontenot, and Rhett Fontenot; as well as extended family and friends.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Mary “Nan” DuBose McClelland; his parents; and siblings, Donald McClelland and Delores Duplechin.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at First Baptist Church in Eunice on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at from 9:00am until time of services at 11:00 am.
