James "Jim" Trim Sr.

BASILE ~ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Trim Sr., who entered eternal rest on May 30, 2026.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Jim's life on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with funeral services beginning at 1 PM, officiated by Pastor Chauncey Davis.

Jim was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and hard work. He loved spending time in his shop, restoring and working on old cars, especially his treasured 1946 Ford. Whether tinkering with engines or enjoying time with family, Jim's quiet strength, dedication, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Trim; his children, Lisa Trim, Jim Trim Jr., and Kelly (Donald Jr.) Ranton; his grandchildren, Brandon Miller, Katelyn (Michael) Tunwar, D’Andre Ned, Deonte Ranton, Deshante Ranton, Nathan Ranton, Kamille Ranton, and Kyson Ranton; his great-grandchildren, Anthanee Miller, Addalee Miller, Blake Tunwar, and Grayson Tunwar; his siblings, Jack Trim, Bruce (Wanda) Trim, Susan (Dennis) Wooden, and Vanessa (Richard) Kirby; and his sister-in-law, Celeste Trim (Skeet).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Clydie Mae Trim, and his siblings, Harold K. Trim, Patsy White, Lena Chapman, and Dorothy Riley.

Jim will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for restoring classic cars, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
