Eunice

EUNICE ~ Jane Couvillion was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on May 1st, 2026 surrounded by her family. Her life was a beautiful example of true faith to our Lord and devotion to her family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Thomas More on Thursday, May 7th, which would have been her 84th birthday. Visitation will be at Ardoin's Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6th from 11am-7pm with a rosary at 6pm and Thursday from 8am until the time of service at 11am at St Thomas More with Fr Sam Fontana officiating.

Jane married the love of her life, John, on June 1, 1963 for 53 years. She was a devoted homemaker and raised her children and grandchildren with great love and much laughter. The best gift she gave her family was their faith. She and John were a wonderful example of serving the church and building your faith. She devoted many years to St. Thomas more as a CCD teacher, confirmation and pre-cana teacher and was involved in St Thomas more Couples Weekend retreats many years ago. She and John taught Engaged Encounter and also were very involved in the the Cursillo movement spending many weekends at the Cursillo center serving others and building God's Kingdom.

She enjoyed gathering monthly with friends to share a meal and fellowship with her supper club group for 40 years. It was something she looked forward to every month. She also enjoyed meeting with her 6 sisters monthly for many years for a "sister breakfast" where they talked and talked and talked...

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was so blessed to live long enough to meet her first great grandchild, Emrie George, 10 months ago. Emrie was a true blessing and brought so much joy and laughter to her life at the end of her journey on Earth.

She is survived by her four beloved children: Darren Couvillion and his wife, Leah of Baton Rouge; Sue Andrepont and her husband, Chuck; Michelle George and her husband, Mike; and Jeanelle Fruge and her husband, Nick, all residing in Eunice. Jane's legacy continues to thrive through her grandchildren: Peyton Couvillion, John Christian Lyons, Nathan Andrepont, Jacob, Ian, and Kaleb George, Grace and Zachary Fruge, and her great grandchild, Emrie George. She also leaves behind extended family and many friends who will remember her warmth and compassion.

Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John Lee Couvillion and her precious daughter, Marie Louise Couvillion.

Special thanks to Eunice Community Home Health and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for all the care and comfort you offered to our mom.

In this difficult time, the family invites all who knew Jane to come together to honor her memory and celebrate the love and joy she brought into their lives.
