EUNICE~ On, Monday, September 6, 2021, Jasper J. Manuel, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 76. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 08, 2021, at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.

Jasper served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Wasp. He was a life -time member of the VFW as well as the Disabled Veterans. Jasper had a kind and gentle soul, he was loving, generous and was always willing to help others. He was an avid woodworker and  always making something for family, friends and neighbors.  He loved to cook, travel, playing weekly card games and he enjoyed the yearly Harmonica Festival. But most importantly he supported his grandkids in all their endeavors. Jasper will be forever remembered by his wife, Madeline Manuel of Eunice; his four daughters, Michele Manuel Hebert and husband, Shane of Zachary, Melanie Manuel Tiefenauer and husband, Dave of Caledonia, MO, Maria Manuel and fiancé’ Ben Cooley of Sulphur and Megan Manuel Fuselier and husband, Lannie of Lake Charles; his three step children, Jay Mentel of Lafayette, Jeffrey Mentel and wife, Erika of Carencro and Michelle Istre and husband, Michael of Westlake; his eighteen grandchildren, Alexis, Tanner, Austin, Rhett, Bailey, Bryce, Rachael, Brandon, Lexi, Seth, Amber,  Julia, Isabel, John-Paul, Lydia, Nathan, Claire, Andrew, Jude and Gabriel; two great grandchildren, Avery and Ansley; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Shea Manuel; his parents, Auston and Agnes Fontenot Manuel; sister, Lois Dougia and brother, Burk Manuel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7th from 10:30 am until 5:00pm.  Deacon Gary Gaudin will lead a Rosary at 2:00 pm and at 3:00 pm the VFW Honor Guard will have a service.
