BASILE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jeanette Arabie Young announces her passing on Saturday, December 03, 2022, at Hospice of Acadiana Calcutta House in Lafayette with her loving family by her side. She was 63. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 07, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Mitchell Guidry, Celebrant.
Jeanette was born on January 12, 1959 to Zannie and Dula Higginbothan Arabie in Tee Mamou. She loved crafting, working in her yard, flowers and always volunteering to help others. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her husband, of forty four years, Freddie Young of Basile; three children, Joel Young, Alana Young Fontenot and husband, Daniel and Travis Young all of Basile; step-daughter, Nikki Miller and husband, Scott of Basile; brother, Lee Arabie and wife, Brenda of Scott; sister, Geneva Bellard of Opelousas; three grandchildren, Carson, Camille and Cooper Fontenot; three step grandchildren, Nicholas Miller, Alexis M. Andrus and Madison Miller and one step great grandchild, Dani Andrus of Basile.
She is preceded in death by her son, Corey James Young; parents; siblings, Tom Arabie, Joe Arabie and Bertha Arabie.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, December 6th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, December 7th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening.
