BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Jesse Granger announces his passing on Saturday, April 06, 2013 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 08, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Soileau with Father David Hebert, Celebrant.
Jesse honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and at 85 years old he was still farming. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. His greatest joys in life were his family especially his loving wife, Margie Granger of Soileau his three children, Janice Fruge Leitko and husband, Mike of The Woodlands, TX, Cliff Fruge and wife, Joan of Soileau and Jerry Neil Granger and wife, Shannan of Covington and his two sisters, Jeanette Vallee of Elton and Shirley Hebert of Oberlin. He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Jessica Fields, Travis Leitko, Jeff Fruge, Megan Daigle, Rachel and Katelyn Granger, and two great grandchildren, Devan Fruge and Callahan Fields. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Pete Granger and Beatrice Guillory Granger.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, April 7th from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, April 8th from 8:00 am until time of services. Father David Hebert will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
