EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joan Gehbauer Maitre announces her passing on Sunday, May 09, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 77. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating.

Joan a resident of Eunice and a native of New Orleans was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends and doing for everyone else brought a great deal of joy to her life. Along with the love for her family she also had a love for entertaining, cooking, dancing and having parties. A loving wife, mother and grandmother she will be lovingly remembered her husband, George A. Maitre of Eunice her son, Mark Albert Maitre and wife, Stacey of Los Angeles, CA her daughter, Michelle M. Borne and husband, Dr. Glenn of Eunice her six grandchildren whom she was very proud of Derek and Jessica Borne, Asher, Cameron, Sosi and Selam Maitre.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Edwin and Gladys Gehbauer two sisters, Carol Stumpf and Marilyn Hernez.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 11:00 am until time of services.
