EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Kenneth Duplechin of Eunice, LA announce his passing on May 4, 2018 at the Carpenter House in Lafayette with loving family by his side. He was 49. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, May 07, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse' Meg with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.

Born in Lafayette, LA, he was the son of John Carroll Duplechin and Mary Catherine Reed. He was raised and attended school in Mamou, LA. He was a salesman by trade. John was a proud father, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed raising his animals and spending time with his family and friends. He is well known for his chicken farm, Dup's Farm. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of thirty years, Lisa Thibodeaux Duplechin of Eunice; his daughter, Amber Lee Dupre of Eunice, married to Benjamin Scott Dupre; his son, Brock Ryan Duplechin of Eunice; his grandson, Mason Scott Dupre; his granddaughter, Avery Catherine Dupre; his father, James "Jim" Briley of Ville Platte; his sister, Shonda Briley Dupre of Ville Platte married to Joey Dupre; and his sister Shannon Briley Melancon of Opelousas married to Seth Melancon; as well as extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Carrol Duplechin and Mary Catherine Reed of Eunice; his son, Lance Jason Duplechin; and his brother, Jason Duplechin.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, May 6th from 10:00am until 7:00pm, and again on Monday, May 7th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:00pm Sunday.
