EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Johnny Hatler announces his passing on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 70. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Randy Hatler officiating.
Johnny was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in Vietnam. He was a 1970 Eunice High School graduate and standout basketball player, earning the nickname “Pistol Hatler.” Johnny was an animal lover who enjoyed fishing and hunting, going to the beach for family vacations, and all sports, especially LSU. He especially loved spending time with his family, doting on his grandchildren.
Johnny will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of 45 years, Lynne Veillon Hatler of Eunice; his children, Ryan Hatler and wife, Susan of Pensacola, FL, Nicholas Hatler of Mamou, Brooke Hatler of Lawtell, and Ethan Hatler and Derricka of Zachary; two brothers, Randy Hatler and wife, Elizabeth, and Bobby Hatler, all of Houston, TX; sister, Janet H. Duff and husband, Michael of Liberty, TX; grandchildren, Elise, Simone, Macy, Kamen, Amberly, Trovonnie, JeKeil, and Kenezy; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Wanda Thompson Hatler; and brother, Donald Hatler.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, December 15th from 10:00 am until time of services.
