Iota
IOTA - Joseph Pergie Guidry, Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as "J.P." or "Joe," passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, July 24, 2026.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate J.P.'s life during a memorial visitation at Ardoin Funeral Home in Iota on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of services. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m.
J.P. was a skilled carpenter by trade who took great pride in working with his hands and creating things that would last. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching classic westerns, especially The Lone Ranger and Zorro. He was an avid pool player who enjoyed friendly competition and the camaraderie of fellow players. He also loved a good game of cards and looked forward to spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Whether gathered around the card table, in a pool hall, out in the woods, or on the water, J.P. appreciated life's simple pleasures and never passed up an opportunity to spend time with family and friends or share a laugh with those around him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Misty (Ronald) Perrodin, Jr. of Crowley; the mother of his children, Agnes Lynette Leckelt Guidry of Crowley; his sisters, Judy Nero of Rayne, Jackie Guidry of Duson, and Tina Miller Clark of Church Point; his brothers, Paul Miller of Iota, Thomas Miller of Iota, L.J. Carrier of Eunice, John Louis Miller of Rayne, and Ray Miller of Crowley; his beloved grandchildren, Alainah Celeste Perrodin of Crowley and Joseph "Josey" Guidry IV of Cankton; his godchildren, Angel Nero of Rayne and Lizzy Randall of Crowley. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Joe's niece, Lisa Randall, and Melissa "Missie" Lacombe for going above and beyond in the loving care they provided to Joe.
J.P. was welcomed into eternal rest by his beloved son, Joseph "Joey" Pergie Guidry III of Iota; and his daughter, Jenna Celeste Guidry of Iota; and his sister, Clarice Carrier Boone of Eunice; Pergie and Natilia Aucoin Guidry.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and words of comfort extended during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ardoin Funeral Home in care of his daughter, Misty Perrodin, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
J.P. will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his love of the game, and the friendships he made throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family kindly requests that memorial donations to assist with funeral expenses be made payable to Misty Perrodin and sent in care of Ardoin Funeral Home.
