Joseph Warren Lee Vasseur

BASILE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joseph Warren Lee Vasseur announces his passing on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in the comfort of his home with loving family by his side at the age of 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee Mamou. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery with Father Paul LaFleur Celebrant.

Warren, or “Tootie” as he was called by family and friends loved gardening, camping, Mardi Gras, hunting and setting trout lines; as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus 4906. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory his three loving daughters, Carolyn M. Darbonne and husband, Malcolm of Eunice, Monica L. Fruge and husband, Eric of Tee Mamou and Benita R. Istre and husband, Shawn of Broussard; a close friend, Betty Marcantel of Basile; his brother, Gerald Reed of Basile; his sister, Alice Moore Hoffpauir of Crowley. The joys of his life, his eight grandchildren, Brittany Jordan, Brett Darbonne, Bethany Darbonne, Aaron, Michael and Trever Fruge, Addison and Amalie Istre; and his three great grandchildren, Ashton, Isabella and Hagan Fruge; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Ardoin Vasseur and his parents, Joseph and Emedine Arabie Vasseur.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Thursday, June 13th from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, June 14th from 8:00 am until time of services. Knights of Columbus will recite a Rosary at 6:30 Thursday evening.

Pallbearers will be Aaron, Michael and Trever Fruge, Brett Darbonne, Shawn Istre and Glenn Moore.
