Basile-Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Ann Christ will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with burial in the church mausoleum. Fr. Ken Domingue and Fr. Jules Speyrer will officiate.

Mrs. Christ, age 71 and a resident of Basile, died on July 4, 2006, at 6 a.m. at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She loved cooking and having family gatherings. Mrs. Christ was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Christ, two sisters, Brenda Bertrand and Marjorie Bergeron, and a grandson, Joel Davis.

The visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Thursday, July 6, 2006, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald Christ and wife, Rachel of Baton Rouge, and Robert Christ and wife, Louise of Silsbee, Tx.; her daughters, Elaine Sister Sonnier and husband, Jerry of Eunice, Janet Davis and husband, Johnny of Duson, Kathy Christ of Basile, Darlene Guillory of Eunice, and Gwen Pelloquin of Carencro; two-step daughters, Ruth Fuselier and husband, Jimmy of Abbeville, and Sandra Christ of Eunice; two sisters, Betty Veronie and husband, Olan of Tepetate, and Mable Bertrand and husband, Junior of Sulphur; 26 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
