Joyce Moreau Deshotels

EUNICE-The family of Joyce Moreau Deshotels announces her passing on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in the comfort of her home with loving family by her side. She was 89. A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

          She was born in Swords, LA and graduated from Chataignier High School. After graduation she entered the nursing program at Savoy Memorial Hospital and became an emergency room nurse. Later she married John, moved to Eunice, and began working at Moosa Memorial Hospital. After retirement she opened Joyce’s Dress Shop, J2 Bridal and Formal, and J & J Catering. Joyce is most known for spending countless hours tending her beautiful flowers and yard. She will be remembered fondly by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She lived a long and amazing life. She loved her brothers and sisters.  She never knew a stranger and loved visiting everyone on her porch.

She is survived by her sister, Rita Moreau Syers; her daughter, Robin Deshotels Parker; son, John Hagen Deshotels II; grandchildren, Patricia Joyce Hull, and John Loyd Hull, married to Kristina Deshotels Hull; and three great grandchildren, Easton, Cassidy, and Ella Hull.

           She is preceded in death by her husband John Deshotels, her mother and father, Ludy and Leon Moreau; her sisters Della, Ethelene, and Lucille; as well as her brothers, Leo Drine, Harry, Litton, Ed, and Gus.
