EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Guillory Powell announces her passing in the comfort of her home on the morning of Friday, January 29, 2016 at the age of 75. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor David Plunkett officiating.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Her greatest joy in life was her family especially her husband of fifty six years, Burton Powell, Sr. of Eunice; her son, J.B. "Jay" Powell, Jr. and wife, Jody of Eunice; her two daughters, Kayla Marie Young of Gonzales and Lauri Marie Vasseur and husband, David of Waller, TX; her brother, Johnny Pommier and wife, Betty of Prairie Ronde; her sister, Bernice Siebert of Mamou; and the greatest joys of her life her four grandchildren, Rachel Powell, Andre Powell, Taylor Young and Allie Vasseur.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Yourick and Omerice Fontenot Guillory; several brothers and sisters and her son-in-law, Jody Young.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of services.
