Judy A. Martin

EUNICE - With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a beloved soul as we announce the passing of Judy Ann Martin on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Eunice, Louisiana at the age of 69.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Nick Ware officiating services.

 Judy was a remarkable individual who touched the hearts of all those around her. Born on Tuesday, December 7, 1954 in Opelousas, Louisiana, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with her family and friends.  Judy found immense joy in spoiling her grandchildren and hosting family gatherings during the holidays. Judy's warm and welcoming nature made every gathering a special occasion that will be treasured forever.
 
One of Judy's greatest pleasures was spending time with her beloved sister, shopping for treasures and enjoying delicious meals at their favorite restaurants. The memories they created together will always be cherished.  Known for her selfless nature, Judy was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Judy had a vibrant personality that could light up any room. With her quick wit and sense of humor, she had a talent for keeping everyone laughing. There was never a dull moment in her presence, and her joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
 
Judy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved including her mother, Ettaline Guidry of Eunice; son, Joseph M. Martin, Jr. and wife, Felecia of Eunice and their children, Shawn, Seth, and Shay Martin; daughter, Tasha Fontenot and husband, Steven C. of Eunice and their children, Steven "Bubba" and wife, Victoria, Andrew, and Jacob Fontenot; and daughter, Brandie Martin Aucoin and husband, Shaun of Eunice and their children, Mason and Vivian Aucoin.   Also left behind to cherish her memory are her siblings, Peggy Quebodeaux of Eunice, Terry Guidry of Eunice, and Steve Guidry and wife, Lisa of Hathaway.

 Judy now rests with her husband of 41 years, Joseph Martin, Sr.; father, Louis Guidry; and brother, Patrick Guidry.

  A visitation to honor and celebrate Judy's life will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, May 3, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a Rosary, led by Deacon Gary Gaudin, at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until dismissal for services.
