BASILE~It's with heavy hearts that the family of Kiki Newman Fontenot announces her passing on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 87.

Kiki loved playing wahoo, cards, marble games and loved visiting with neighbors but most of all she loved family gatherings. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her loving husband of sixty six years, J. C. Fontenot of Basile; her two children, Steve Fontenot and wife, Sandy of Basile and Nancy LaFosse of Lake Charles; five grandkids, Kaitlyn Furman, Chris and Madison Fontenot, David Hampton and Craig LaFosse; four great grandkids, Patricia Furman, Sadie Hampton, Sophie and Cecilia LaFosse.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kam and Ozea Sonnier Newman; great grandson, Tyler Leger; brother, Alton Newman and a sister, Vaida Beartice.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 9:30 pm and again on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 8:00 am until noon. Burial will follow in the Prien Highland Memorial Park in Lake Charles. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
