EUNICE~It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Laura Mae Gobert announces her passing on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 with her loving family by her side at the age of 56. Graveside services will be held at St. Ann Cemetery with Rev. Borgia Aubespin, SVD officiating.
Our fierce and fiery lil firecracker, you were that sweet, caring, kind, giving, loving baby sister. Your presence was a blast of sunshine. Laura you were a blessing. God was so kind and generous to us.
Laura was a dealer at the Coushatta Casino, and she loved dancing, nature, gardening and animals. She especially loved the time she was able to spend with all her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, and she will be remembered in our hearts forever. Left to cherish her memories are her five siblings, Genevieve Simien of Opelousas, Eddie Gobert and wife, Mary of Diamondhead, MS, Alonda Gobert of Mallet, Paul Gobert of Waco, TX and Phillip Gobert of Mallet; her godchildren, Paul Gobert, JR and Dylan Young; aunt, Mary D. Papilllion; her godfather, Hilton LeCompte; her nieces and nephews, Stacey, Ruben Jr Patrick, Darrell Jr, Danielle, Brian, Paul Jr, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Amber, Natalie, and Dylan; eighteen great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews; her best friend forever for fifty five years, Camella Carrier.
Welcoming her into Heaven's paradise are her parents, Clarence and Mildred DuRousseau Gobert; her brothers, James T. Gobert, Clarence Julius Gobert, Harold Gobert, Dennis Gobert, Carroll Gobert and Darrell Gobert; niece, Angeleach Davis; nephew, Jonathan Gay, and her godmother, Gilda LeCompte.
