EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 03, 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for Lela Mae Bertrand Pavich, 85, who passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery in Eunice with the Reverend Father Tom Voorhies, Celebrant.
Lela Mae, widow of Louis Louie Pavich passed away surrounded by family after a long battle with Cancer family succumbing to death with dignity that never abandoned her during her courageous battle with her illness.
Lelas children, family and friends were her life, she is survived by her two sons, Louis Nicola Nick Pavich and wife, Lynn and Dr. Russell Paul Pavich and wife, Myra both of Eunice; two daughters, Onesia Maria Pavich of Houston, Texas, Michelle Anne Pavich of Eunice; five grandchildren, Stefan Nicola Pavich of Carencro, Lora Nicole Pavich Pierce of Lafayette, Monica Claire Pavich of Eunice, Louis Nicola Nico Pavich and Lazo Nicola Pavich both of Baton Rouge; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Taylor Pavich, Jailyn Paige Pavich, Ethan Nicola Pavich, Reece Anthony Pavich. Lela will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Nicola Lazo Pavich, Sr; father, Leus Bertrand; mother, Onezia LeJeune Bertrand; Brothers, Joe and Frank Bertrand; uncle, Leopold LeJeune; aunts, Corinne LeJeune Moore, Mena LeJeune Burrows, Meza LeJeune Pelloquin, and Christine LeJeune Daigle, Louisiana Nanan LeDoux.
Pallbearers are Stefen Pavich, Nico Pavich, Lazo Pavich, Kris Pierce, Clayton Bertrand, and Shane Bertrand. Honorary Pallbearers are Jame Tee Leger, Patrick Bidez and Jim Sterling.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, November 02, 2008 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, November 03, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 5.00 pm. by the Ladies Alter Society followed by a 6:30 pm Rosary with Father Tom Voorhies .
The family would like to thank Drs. Gerald Murdock, John Rainey, Juliet Robinson and Randy Miller. Also, Lynn Pavich, RN, Heart of Hospice of Louisiana, Sarah Bellow, Annabelle Brasseaux for the excellent care she received in these last four years of her life. Extreme heartfelt thanks to her daughter, Michelle, who stayed by her side for the duration of her illness.
As a family we loved having her presence around us as she provided a barometer of truth to live by. She was completely honest, pure and unaffected and it encouraged us to strive for excellence in any endeavor. And always to step back on occasion and reflect on whats going on in our lives and always appreciate it.
