EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lenese J. Mire announces his passing on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his home at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Ortego Cemetery with Father Raymond Ssebina, Celebrant.
Lenese was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a truck driver who worked until he was 80 years old. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife, Berna Mire of Eunice; his sons, Kenneth Mire of Eunice, Mitchell Paul Mire and wife, Alisa of Vidrine, and Brent Mire of Eunice; brothers, Wilbert Mire and wife, Loma of Church Point and Gerald Mire of Arnaudville; sisters, Connie Cole of Lawtell, Charlene Mallet of Leonville, and Beulah Soileau and husband, Berchman of Opelousas; five grandchildren, Garrett Mire and wife, Kelly, Justin Mire and wife, Alyssa, Abbie Mire, Devon Mire, and Timothy Mire; one great grandchild, Weston Mire; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eugene Sonnier Mire; great grandson, Stetson Paul Mire; and siblings, Clarence Mire, Jr., Thelma Bodin, and Robert Mire.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, November 29th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, November 30th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
