EUNICEA devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Leroy Courville will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Leroy died on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Acadian Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Courville Family Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Leroy was a Parishioner of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde where he served as an Usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served his community as a volunteer member of the Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Department as well as assisted his local volunteer fire department with various tasks and was recognized as an Honorary Fireman in 2004. Leroy loved the outdoors and gardening but mostly, he loved his horses. He was an avid quarter horse trainer who enjoyed attending and participating in the horse races.

Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Willie Mae Courville four daughters, Kathy Manuel of Houston, TX, Carol Prejean of New Iberia, Tammy Castille and husband, David of Eunice and Rachel LeMaire and husband, Luke of Scott his three sisters, Pearl Thibodeaux and husband, Elton, Enola Bertrand, and Shirley Jarona all of Eunice. Also mourning his loss is his seven loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved son, Ray Allen Courville his parents, Robert and Eva Johnson Courville his granddaughter, Brandy Castille his brother, Elby Courville and his two sisters, Eva Mae Courville and Mary Grace Courville.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Saturday evening.
